PRIZE FOR

T. SZASZ, M.D., PROF. OF PSYCHIATRY

(Letter, 28 September 1993)

Forwarding the extremely interesting writings of Dr. Timev, who is clearly an intellectually courageous psychiatrist and had thought deeply about the problems in this field has come to the conclusions similar to those at which I have arrived. I believe that, after further editing (the English is credible, but not publishable in this form), a publisher will be willing to take this on.

PROF. JAMES C. CROTSTEIN, M.D.

(Letter of Reference, July 9, 1992)

My professional opinion about your written is that it represents an unusually high caliber of erudition, an unusually broad range of many different fields of sciences, philosophy, psychoanalysis, semiotics, etc., and a most credible and interesting way of integrating the contribution from these various areas.

… the work you have submitted for my scrutiny does demonstrate that you are a true scholar and a rare one indeed.

JEFF BERNARD, Ed.-in-Chief EJSS

(Letter, 4 January 1993)

Let me tell you that I am deeply impressed by this outstanding work of thought, which is of great philosophical and scientific interest, and, of course, also from a semiotic point of view. For these reasons, we published a description of this book in the LASS-AIS Bulletin, i.e. the newsletter of the International Association for Semiotic Studies, of which I am one of the co-editors. This issue of the Bulletin is in print just now, and as soon as we receive it from the printer, I will send you a voucher copy.

… the English version will become an international success.

THE WARNING OF THE ROSENCROYZERS

FOR THE DEGRADATION OF HUMANITY

THE BOOK THAT THREATENS TO BECOME A BESTSELLER

The sensational discovery of the last-year National Book Center Program called Help for a Hundred Books was Rozencroyzer’s History of the Linguistic Hypocrisy. The Revolt of the Mediocrities is already a fact on the market and it was indeed realized as a sensation: on the very first day 1500 out of 5000 copies in print were sold.

The book that threatens to become a bestseller this time is not published under the black series, but is a serious and tragic attempt of the genus Subjectivity of a chosen group which would take the blame for the consuming and technocratic civilization in front of the insulted Universal Reason, which granted life.

It is undoubtedly a modern variant of intellectual behavior – that of the Rosencroyzers in the postmodern society – the work presented herewith is not satisfied only with the normal pathos of the critical judgment over the civilization that sinned, but also offers a receipt for a way out of the crisis of humanity, which rushed blinded after the orgiastic intellect. This is not a book for intellectual but a book for transforming intellectuals. A Book which does not serve on a tray the naked knowledge but has stored techniques for its spirituality. Being different from the serious books of the 20th century, which are for the most part, even the best ones, just library books, this one is a creative workshop: brain techniques where Freedom appears only as a result from the labor of Suffering. Books like Foucaut’s Pendulum by Umberto Ecco describe mightfully and ironically the atmosphere, intrigues and genealogy around the “outer” history of the Rozencroyzers without lifting them to the inner history of their works, which has become the scientific destiny of Europe during the centuries.

BULGARIAN ROSENCROYZER CAME TO LIFE IN 699 PAGES IN THE END OF THE 20TH CENTURY

History of the Linguistic Hipocrisy. The Revolt of the Mediocrities is a phenomenous book which can enlighten and startle any man

Cruel criticism of the contemporary humanity and analysis of the civilization, which was able to survive only thanks to its march against the individual, is locked in the following pathetic exclamation: “Why does not humanity admit, openly and officially, its Satanism and in the name of the constitution and church dedicate itself to the Devil, declaring God its greatest enemy and terror once and for ever? The name of the legal Devil is known, he is called Intellect.”

Many will blame the Bulgarian Rozencroyzer for his belated Nitzscheism or anti-Christianity. The paradox of thought, the formally eclectic order of the text will undoubtedly provoke cruel, but alas, belated criticism. And it will probably be born out of envy.

No book with such contents, sliding on the verge between genius and absurdity, has ever appeared until now, moreover written in Bulgarian. Only that is enough for one to touch this volcano, which has gathered strength for so many years, before exploding today.

Is it for the better or worse? The reader will have to decide.

BULGARIAN CANDIDATE FOR THE NOBEL PRIZE CREATES ANTI-BOOKS

In 1993 two titles appearing on the book market attracted the young and combined the anger of those who thought hierarchically – History of the Linguistic Hypocrisy. The Revolt of the Mediocrities and Anti-Faust. According to experts in the Bulgarian language, there has not been other such book written by a Bulgarian with an incredible contents like this, lying between absurdity and geniality. The author Materius Rozencroyzer – the literary pseudonym of Timen Timev – was born in 1949 in Plovdiv. He has studied medicine in St. Petersburg, but graduates at his home town. He has written twenty-one collections of poetry, twelve plays and theoretical theses. He was never published before the democratic changes in Bulgaria. This is what Prof. Jeff Bernard from Vienna says about his book: Notable works of thought with a great philosophic potential. The English translation of these books will achieve great international success. At the age of fifteen Timen Timev read Shelly, the Plato and through him he adopted the intellectual insanity, provoked by the closeness of the divine values.

When The Revolt of the Mediocrities came out of print, a rumour started that Materius Rosencroyzer will be the first Bulgarian winner of the Nobel prize.

READ THIS BOOK AND BURN DOWN YOUR LIBRARY

It is interesting how the talking-against-the-language ceases to be Talking – to reach itself, its telos. Materius Rosencroyzer’s strategy is oriented towards the saying-destroying, the incessant logofagy. The authenticity taken away from speaking is returned in the destroying of the language pre-determined facts. The separation from Language is done through prolific production of new terms, schemes and formulae, which refer not to a certain articulate meaning but to the primary Pain, denoting the separation of the “I” from the linguistic home. Materius Rosencroyzer sets anti-logic and suffering against our civilization, built on the principles of non-contradiction and pleasure.

I am afraid that many will see the long-expected Bulgarian genius in Materius Rosencroyzer (Timen Timev). I see in him the genius Stranger whom he will have to fight, if we want to preserve the basis of our existence.

AN EXTRAORDINARY BOOK

Indeed, let’s be objective – the reading audience is not scared. Unlike our writhing brothers, it reached for the thick volume (more than seven hundred pages, large) trustfully, and more than 1500 copies were sold almost immediately. The book proved to be a Bulgarian bestseller, became even more popular than the famous Stephen King.

With Rosencroyzer’s novel the almost unknown figure of the literary eccentric rushed into the Bulgarian literature. During the 30-ies talented people like Chavdar Moutafov, Svetoslav Minkov, Georgi Raichev, Vladimir Polinov created the “diabolic prose”, introducing the play, experiment, marionette and automatic writing. The theory of social realism, though, committed them to oblivion and their traditions are now revived but on another level, of course, and in a different esthetic context.

In the basis of the philosophic system offered by Rosencroyzer God is the Order of Genesis and the Devil is the Order of Knowledge. The thinker is convinced that if the Genesis is a divine mistake, the knowledge is the Devil’s correction. That’s where his paradoxical, but fully reasonable thoughts about the tragic fate of humanism in the contemporary epoch start: the impossible but most respectful task is to search the gaps of the Spirit.

A story about the human clan, a philosophic confession about the imperfectness of human nature or coded mythic betrayal.

THE CONTEMPORARY FAUST IS A PARADOX FIGHTING HIS OWN INTELLECT

Anti-Faust continues the already begun destructive line towards the logical, ethical and aesthetic ideas of the world.

The plot of the book describes the battle of the man of science, Dr. Materius, against the collective image of the Ideas: Mephistopheles. But the intellectual is embodied by the Devil, the doctor looks both laughable and tragic. He is confronting his own intellect, isn’t he? Dissatisfied with the orthodox knowledge, he concluded a contract with the Ideas. The price is a Faust one – obedience against knowledge. This is how Dr. Matherius discovers the Code of thought and creation. He tries it on his own child and the child becomes a brilliant composer. But at the expense of his moral and ethical principles. Terrified by his own discovery the doctor destroys his lab and deprives science of a unique biological experiment.

The author’s true name is Timen Timev – a poet, playwright, psychiatrist, encyclopedic scientist and religious thinker. He has written thousand pages. Some of his more famous works are: Theoretic Model for Non-pressive Civilization, Model of the Brain and the Superconsciousness, New Interpretation of the Quantum Mechanics and Cosmology, Systems for Automatic Poetry and Automatic Stylistics, Hypothesis for the Symmetric-Syntactic Correlative Between the Universe and the Brain, The World’s Memory and the Quantum-Mechanical Inter-Ego; SYSTEMS FOR INFANT BRAIN STIMULATION AND GENERATING OF TALENTS…

The literary critic Georgi Tsankov declared in TV Forum broadcast that Timen Timev – Rosencroyzer is a genius…

In the very same TV broadcast Minister Elka Konstantinova confirmed that Timen Timev is a genius.

GENIUSES AND FOOLS COULD HARDLY SURVIVE IN A WORLD DRIVEN BY MARKET ECONOMY

By Maria Stoyanova

Published in “TRUD” – Bulgarian daily newspaper, June 25, 1996

What would become of a self-made native genius, who has managed to publish a bestseller, selling as fresh enjoying great interest but the influential libraries for specialized philosophic literature are refusing to sell my books.”

The answer to the question “Why are they reluctant?” could be found out four years ago, when Timev’s bestseller won a contest of the National Book Center. Most reviewers used to praise highly the still-born realism that finally faded away (with the emergence of the Timev phenomenon). But one still regards the newborn idea as a real threat. “I’m afraid - stated reviewer Boyko Penchev in 1992 - many could recognize in the person of Materius Rosencroyzer that Bulgarian genius we have been waiting for so long. But I would rather recognize him as the brilliant Stranger against whom we should fight if we want to keep the reasons for our existence.”

The philosopher whose books were meant to make us burn our book collections is starving. This is the fact. And the conclusions could be various. The intellectual envy kills the Bulgarian genius. Or: The market imposes its implacable laws to which even a genius should obey. This does not necessarily apply to the “fools” – the government takes care of their full support through the respective establishment where such patients are getting treatment. Maybe some books (even if published by the state) should be considered as opium and therefore be burnt to ashes until it’s not too late.

A SECOND EINSTEIN IN AMERICA – EINSTEIN’S DOUBLE IN OLD SACRAMENTO

Just about everyone in Old Sacramento is familiar with the violinist who plays on the street and has diversified the crowds in Old Sac for the past several years.

By intuition, and because of his resemblance, the people who pass by him in Old Sacramento call him “Einstein” – but who would suspect that he really is a professor of Theory and came to the United States of America in order to present his new theory of Space and Time?

By innocence and ignorance visitors to Old Sac call him “maestro” – but who would suspect that he truly is a maestro in music and in the arts? Who would believe that “Maestro of Old Sac” is really the author of twenty books in most all ruling disciplines – some of them best-sellers; that he was a professor who taught in several European universities;

And, perhaps most surprising of all, was a practicing psychiatrist for fifteen years in his native Bulgaria.

Persecuted first by the Communist regime, then after becoming a best-selling author, persecuted by the new pseudo-democratic regime, specifically, by the “mafia” of Eastern European – Bulgarian and French intellectuals, Dr. Timen Timev escaped to the States in order to flee intellectual envy, the wickedness of pseudo-writers and political oppressions in Europe; unfortunately he has found the same intellectual envy, although more organized, in our country.

If he has already had success as a best-selling author, the reason was the beautiful, attractive literary form (as a pleasure of text) and the style of writing, which he placed in his vanguard philosophical ideas that stand on the edge of our times.

People know Dr. Timen as a musician, but actually music is the least of his occupations. Scholar, psychiatrist, philosopher, poet, playwright, and scientist who has made a synthesis between exact sciences and spirituality, and who pursues the common point between the arts and knowledge.
